Coding Summer Camp Basics
Summer camps are what Panda Programmer does best! Our summer camps are typically held in MCPS elementary and middle schools. For 2021 Panda Programmer is at synagogue Kol Shalom in Rockville. Campers range in grades from one to eight. They learn computer science in a safe, fun environment. Campers relax outside in the fresh air during break time. Format of our Computer Summer Camps
Panda Programmer offers both half-day and full-day experiences with our summer camps. There is plenty of time for campers to learn to code. The half-day sessions begin at 9 am and wrap up by noon. Half-day sessions also begin at 1 pm and conclude by 4 pm. Full-day sessions begin at 9 am and end by 4 pm. Full-day campers bring their own lunches and usually eat outside (weather permitting). Our computer summer camps are a lot more than just coding!
Normally (pre-pandemic) Panda Programmer offers fun diversions from computer programming. The campers learn a foreign language (spanish, French, or Chinese) as well as how to play the ukulele. However, due to Covid restrictions, we are not offering foreign languages and music at our summer camps in 2021. We can still play outside though, and chess, Connect 4, and bocce ball are still fun and engaging distractions for break time at our tech camp.
Fees and Discounts
Our summer camps in 2021 cost $435 per week for full-day and $270 per week for half-day. We offer multi-week and sibling discounts for our coding summer camp.
