At our Washington, DC camp our program starts with Scratch, a visual interface that makes learning to code feel like play. As students build their own games and stories, they are actually practicing high-level concepts like loops and events in a drag-and-drop environment. Starting with Scratch helps students build a portfolio of work they are proud of while preparing them for the more advanced challenges of text-based coding.
At our Washington, DC location, we turn abstract code into physical action. Students build and program robots to navigate obstacles and react to their environment, gaining a first-hand look at modern engineering concepts. By working together to optimize their creations, campers learn the value of iterative design—building, testing, and improving. This course is perfect for students who want to see their programming efforts leap off the screen and into the real world.
