Summer Day Camp

Panda Programmer offers one of the best summer day camp experiences in Montgomery County.  

For more than 7 years we have offered our summer day camp experience to students in grades 1 through 8.  Our camp is fun, yet campers really learn the basics of computer science.  If it weren’t fun, the children would not be engaged.  We urge the parents of our campers to ask the children each day about what they have learned!

During the school year, Panda Programmer offers high-quality classes in coding as an in-school, after-school program.  Elementary and middle school students stay after school to learn coding. Our experienced Panda Programmer teachers bring the laptops (one per student) into the school for our classes.  Typically our in-school after-school classes are no more than 2 hours long.  Our student to teacher ratio is unparalleled in the industry at 6:1 or less.  We invite  you to read more about our curriculum that is used both for after-school classes and for our summer day camp.

Panda Programmer uses the knowledge and experience from teaching after-school in our summer day camp.  Students who have studied with us during the school year DO NOT begin all over again when they join our camp.  Our teachers keep individualized notes on each student’s progress so that the student can pick up their learning where they left off.  Similarly, if a student joins our after-school program having taken part in our summer day camp, they pick up where they left off.  

We invite parents to compare our summer day camp with other offerings.  Our camp is one of the best run Maryland summer camps. We do not “spoon-feed” our students with step-by-step instructions.  On the contrary, we teach the student concepts involved in computer science and computer programming.  These concepts and real-world practice is helpful to them as they enter demanding fields in their future.
