Summer Camp 2019

Yes, the summer camp dates for 2019 have been announced. They are:

Week 1: June 24 – June 28 (at Rachel Carson ES in the Kentlands)
Week 2: July 8 – July 12 (at Cold Spring ES in Potomac)
Week 3: July 15 – July 19 (at Sligo Creek ES in Silver Spring)
Week 4: July 22 – July 26 (at Rachel Carson ES in the Kentlands)
Week 5: July 29 – August 2 (at Cold Spring ES in Potomac)
Week 6: August 5 – August 9 (at Sligo Creek ES in Silver Spring)
Week 7: August 12 – August 16 (at Rachel Carson ES in the Kentlands)

As for the ukuleles and foreign language, great question. We are definitely still mostly a coding camp. But we don’t think the kids should stay inside on computers all day! So we give them optional breaks during our daily routine. If they would like to take a break and learn ukulele we do that with them. If they would like to take a break and learn French or Chinese we do that with them. By the end of the week, we have the campers playing a song in the foreign language that they have learned. It’s great fun!
And once again, the music and language is optional, so some campers choose not to participate and just code. That’s fine too-
