Panda Programmer specializes in small-group, beginner-friendly coding summer camps for students in grades 1–8. Unlike large national programs, our Silver Spring MD camps focus on age-appropriate instruction, hands-on projects, and personal attention — especially for kids who are new to coding.
Families in Silver Spring MD choose Panda Programmer for our experienced instructors, hands-on curriculum, and small class sizes.
At our Silver Spring summer camp, students embark on their coding journey using Scratch’s intuitive block-based system. By designing custom animations and immersive games, young coders master essential logic—such as event handling, variables, and loops. We use Scratch to foster a creative environment where beginners can gain the technical assurance needed to eventually tackle syntax-heavy, text-based languages.
At our Silver Spring camp, we bring code into the physical world. Students engage in interactive building challenges where they discover how software drives mechanical movement and sensor feedback. By collaborating on project designs and troubleshooting hardware issues, our campers develop a deep understanding of how logic applies to tangible engineering. It’s an immersive experience that bridges the gap between digital scripts and real-world robotics.
For our experienced learners in Silver Spring, we bridge the gap between visual blocks and professional text-based coding. Students dive into Python, learning the syntax and structure used by professional software engineers to write scripts and automate tasks. We also explore the core components of web architecture, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at how the internet works. Our Silver Spring instructors ensure that while the concepts are advanced, the curriculum remains accessible and rewarding for every student.
Our Silver Spring facility provides everything your child needs to learn comfortably and effectively.
