Panda Programmer teaches real programming skills to children in grades 1 through 8 through a fun, creative, and age-appropriate approach. Our programs introduce young learners to the core concepts of computer science using tools designed specifically for their developmental level. Whether your child is just beginning with Scratch or ready to explore text-based languages like Python and JavaScript, our instructors guide them step-by-step in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Programming is a powerful way for children to learn problem-solving, logical thinking, creativity, and persistence. At Panda Programmer, students don’t just watch lessons—they build projects from the ground up. Younger children learn programming through Scratch, where they design animations, interactive stories, and simple games while mastering loops, conditionals, variables, and event-driven programming. Older or more advanced students work with Python and JavaScript to write real code, build simulations, create games, and solve challenges that strengthen both technical and analytical skills.

Students can learn programming with Panda Programmer through several flexible options. Families interested in summer programs can explore all offerings on our main Summer Camps page, or visit the specific pages for the Gaithersburg Summer Camp, the Silver Spring Summer Camp, the Bethesda Summer Camp, or the Washington DC Summer Camp.

During the school year, many families choose our small-group weekend sessions, where children build programming skills in a structured and supportive setting. Details about weekend schedules, locations, and curriculum can be found on our Weekend Classes page.

Panda Programmer also provides after-school enrichment at multiple Montgomery County and Northwest DC schools. These classes allow students to learn programming immediately after the school day in a familiar setting. Families can explore current school partners, locations, and registration information on our After-School Programs page.

Whether your goal is enrichment, academic preparation, or simply giving your child a fun and meaningful way to explore technology, programming at Panda Programmer offers an excellent foundation. To explore answers to common questions about our curriculum and teaching approach, visit our FAQ page.
